Pen tip flowing talent, writing youthful chapters | International Academy 2025 English Writing Competition successfully concluded
As the snow falls, the chill gradually intensifies. The students of the International Academy use paper and pen as a medium to ignite their passion for writing this winter. Recently, the International Academy 2025 English Writing Competition of Suzhou High School Xiangcheng Experimental Project in Jiangsu Province has come to a successful conclusion. This writing feast, carefully organized and planned by the English teaching team and covering three grades throughout the school, not only showcases the students' solid English skills, but also shows us the focus, pursuit, and love behind words.

01
Promoting learning through competition:
Seeing growth in writing
Our initial idea was actually very simple, "said Teacher Huang from the English group when reviewing the original intention of the activity." It's not just about judging who writes the best, but also hoping that students can feel things beyond language in every stroke - such as patience, aesthetics, and respect for details
She specifically mentioned a detail: "Some students usually write their homework casually, but this competition has really calmed them down and allowed them to ponder the curvature of each letter and the balance between words. I saw some students deliberately check the writing standards of different fonts, and some people repeatedly make samples with pencils on the paper. This attitude of independent research is exactly what we hope to inspire
Teacher Sun from the English group also added, "After this activity, the quality of homework writing for many high school students has significantly improved. Not only the award-winning students, but everyone still maintains the habit of writing seriously after the competition

From homework to work:
Writing is a form of 'slow practice'
This competition is also a vivid practice of the International Academy's educational philosophy of "Gazing up on the stars, rooting down to earth": it encourages students to pursue excellence and dare to express themselves, while also guiding them to settle their hearts and solidify their foundations in daily life.
In the digital age, the unique and focused power of writing is becoming increasingly precious. The purpose of this competition is to guide students to break free from the inertia of "completing tasks" and, in addition to the daily required paper and pencil assignments, to purely experience the rhythm and beauty of ink flowing between papers, and to engage in a slow practice of fast-paced learning.
A beautifully crafted English writing is not only about the beauty of form, but also about shaping learning habits and thinking qualities:
Enhance learning efficiency
Good writing habits promote the cultivation of concentration, help students present clear papers in exams, and deepen their memory and understanding of word spelling and sentence structure in daily learning.
Shaping a calm and composed mindset
A stroke by stroke outline requires patience and perseverance, which is a precious quality in the fast-paced era.
Cultivate aesthetic and cross-cultural literacy
Language is an art and a bridge for cross-cultural communication. In copying and creating, students perceive the beauty of rhythm between words and phrases, which is also a silent cross-cultural dialogue.

All participants:
Over a hundred works witness the passion for writing
This competition received positive responses from all students in three grades of the International Academy, with a total of 110 entries received. The content written by the students also demonstrates a wide range of interests and tastes, from classic poetry and novel excerpts to movie lines, popular lyrics, and even personal favorite motivational quotes, which can be said to be all encompassing. The careful delineation of every letter and the meticulous layout of every sentence embody the students' love for learning English.
After the initial evaluation by the English group teachers, 24 outstanding works stood out and entered the finals. These works are either elegant and graceful, or free and unrestrained, with different font styles but equally brilliant. They were displayed on the cork walls in the corridors of the academy, and once posted, they quickly attracted many teachers and students to stop and watch.
In the final stage, the entire faculty and students will vote together, allowing the beauty of writing to naturally bloom in democratic selection. After intense competition, the final 9 students won honors and prizes with their extraordinary abilities.
the first prize:

I hope that next year at this time, more students can confidently write and express their own starlight and earth in the ups and downs of dots and lines.
