This week, students from the OSSD direction of the International Academy spent half a day visiting Suzhou Kelida Decoration Co., Ltd. and Suzhou Science and Technology Museum, launching a social practice activity with the theme of "Craftsmanship and Innovation for the Future".
For the students in the OSSD class of the third year of high school, this is also their last time going out together with their younger classmates before graduation.
Everyone tacitly cherishes the time spent together.
01
First Stop
From urban landmarks
Seeing the power of 'smart manufacturing'
The first stop, students came to Suzhou Kelida Decoration Co., Ltd.
The staff led everyone to visit the company and introduced the development history and corporate culture of Kolida. Ke "is a tool," Li "is a duty, and" Da "means taking responsibility and accountability. Many familiar landmarks of Suzhou, such as Suzhou Center, Shishan Grand Theater, the Taihu Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center, all of their curtain wall projects were created by Klida.

In addition, there is a clever "Easter egg" in this trip - the Suzhou Science and Technology Museum that we are going to, and Kolida also participated in the indoor construction of its public areas. From the outside to the inside, from the curtain wall to the space, Ke Lida's hand runs through the entire tour route.

Subsequently, Dr. Liu Changchun, Dean of the Kelida Prefabricated Decoration Industry Technology Research Institute and Associate Professor of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Suzhou University of Science and Technology, gave a special presentation on "Prefabricated Decoration" to the students.
Dr. Liu Changchun
Decorating a house like building blocks "is the most intuitive understanding among students. The design concept of standardization, modularity, and disassembly enables building spaces to be more flexibly applied to different scenarios such as residential, hotel, office, and wellness.
During the explanation, some students kept asking questions around the construction method model, while others carefully recorded and took photos to accumulate materials for subsequent social practice assignments.

At Kolida, what we see is not only the exterior landmark of the curtain wall, but also the interior renovation. Combining internal and external cultivation is called 'intelligent manufacturing'.
02
From self-awareness to gazing up at the stars
The second stop, we arrived at the Suzhou Science and Technology Museum at the foot of Lion Mountain.
This building, resembling a "jade ruyi", is not completely unfamiliar to students - at Kolida, the staff just mentioned that they participated in the indoor construction of the public area of the science museum. Entering the "work" itself from the headquarters of the "builder" is a somewhat unique experience.

The exhibition hall starts with 'self-awareness'. In the "Micro Organic" exhibition hall, the eight major systems of the human body are clearly displayed, and interesting science popularization and interactive installations are everywhere.
Someone paused for a long time in front of the interactive game of pea hybridization experiment, repeatedly tested, and whispered to their companions, "We only passed this mid-term biology exam
Someone has shown interest in neuroscience by using their brainwaves to make flowers bloom in the "World of Mind Flowers".
Starting from the human body system, followed by the footprints of microbial universe and microscopic exploration, as well as quantum secrets and nano worlds... students continue on their journey and eventually enter the philosophical temple of gazing up at the stars.
A classmate stopped in front of the nano exhibition booth for a long time, staring at the magnified microstructure of the material in a trance. He turned back to his companion and said, "Is this related to materials science? I want to learn this in the future
Behind every exhibit, there is a collective participation of universities, research institutions, and high-tech enterprises.
And the industrial confidence of Suzhou has also become tangible in the exhibition hall. Intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, nanotechnology... The keywords of "new quality productivity" that were originally limited to news and textbooks have become interactive scenes that can be touched and experienced by hand.
From the smallest cell to the farthest starry sky. This is the romance of science, and also the most touching dialogue between 'small' and 'big'.
03
the last stop
Actually, it's them themselves
In fact, there is a hidden "third stop" for this study, which is the students themselves, especially those from the OSSD graduation class in their third year of high school. This day is also their last collective social practice during their school years.
During every outdoor activity, high school seniors naturally stand at the forefront. Listen attentively, ask proactively, and interact actively. Rather than just 'showing off', it has become a habit - a habit of taking on more responsibilities in the collective, and also a habit of 'leading the way' for younger students.

Senior students often say, "I think seniors in their third year of high school are particularly charming
Being remembered, needed, and reluctant - this is probably the best farewell gift for three years.
There are also many smaller details: during the gathering, high school seniors will actively confirm the number of people and contact those who have not yet arrived; At the destination, there are always people standing at the door waiting for the students behind, casually sending a location.
These things may seem small, but day after day, small responsibilities gradually become reassuring abilities, and small details gradually accumulate into what others see as "reliability" and "charm".
04
The endpoint is also the starting point
The half day study tour quickly came to an end.
Today, we saw the intelligent manufacturing of "both inside and outside" in Kolida: one side is the curtain wall of the city landmark, and the other side is the innovation of prefabricated decoration; At the science museum, we start from the human body, pass through the world of microorganisms and nanotechnology, and look up at the stars all the way.

Two places, seemingly different, always have a common thread running through them - both starting from the 'small' and ultimately leading to a broader world.
And the students in the OSSD class of senior high school are also standing at such a milestone in their lives.
Over the past three years, the moments of standing in the front row actively asking questions, the habit of silently confirming classmates' situations time and time again, and the figures remembered by younger students... These seemingly small daily routines have gradually converged into today's reassuring and reluctant collective.
After today, some people will move towards construction engineering, some will study finance, and some will enter the field of materials science. However, no matter where they go in the future, the accumulation of these three years will become their confidence to continue moving forward.
“From small things to big dreams. Goodbye and good luck.”
This is the last social practice of my high school career. It is also the first official departure from here to the world.
This way to Shanhai, there will be a deadline later
