Student Lu Q&A
Q1
What is your ideal university like?
For me, an ideal university is not necessarily the most difficult or competitive, but rather one with a more scientific curriculum and a friendlier learning pace: allowing me to steadily complete my studies while still having time to devote to my passions, continuously exploring selfawareness and growing.
A
Q2
Why did you choose Malaysia as your study abroad destination?
For us students, Malaysia offers a sense of "just right" comfort it is close to China, making travel during holidays very convenient; Chinese is also commonly used in daily life, and the food and culture are easier to adapt to, so we wont be immediately "deterred" by an unfamiliar environment.
At the same time, it is very international—many prestigious British and Australian universities have branch campuses or collaborative programs here, the classroom atmosphere and teaching system are closer to the Commonwealth.
More importantly, the overall cost of studying abroad is relatively controllable, the pressure is not that great, and I still have many options when I apply for a master's or doctoral degree later.
A
Q3
Which other universities and majors did you apply to?
I did not do mass application; I only applied after understanding the courses and conducting major-matching screening. Besides Nottingham, I also applied to:
Monash University Malaysia Campus, Business major
University of Malaysia Campus, Media major
Taylor's University, Hospitality Management major
